- 20 hours group tuition (FCE Preparation) / week
- Course Code: FCE20
- Level: Upper-Intermediate
The Cambridge English First (FCE) is a University of Cambridge ESOL examination designed for people who use everyday written and spoken English at an upper-intermediate level. The Cambridge First examination is an extremely popular, internationally recognised qualification in English.
In the Cambridge First exam 4 language skills are tested:
Reading and Use of English – Shows that you can understand texts from publications such as books, newspapers and magazines. (75 minutes)
Writing – Shows that you can write different text types, such as an essay, report or a letter. (80 minutes)
Listening – Shows that you can follow a range of spoken materials, such as news and everyday conversations. (40 minutes)
Speaking – Shows that you can communicate effectively in face-to-face situations. (14 minutes)
The full-time Cambridge First (FCE) course provides comprehensive preparation and practice for all four papers. Lessons focus on key grammar and vocabulary, skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) development and exam strategies and approaches to ensure optimum exam performance.
In addition to the regular tuition hours, all Cambridge First candidates will receive a weekly practice paper to complete in their own time – an experienced Cambridge First teacher will correct the paper and provide constructive feedback and advice.
There is also a weekly listening practise test, and each candidate can have at least two full mock-speaking papers prior to their exam date.
So, whether you are interested in the Cambridge First examination for a specific purpose, or would just prefer a structured general English course with a balance of skills development and language learning, the full-time Cambridge First (FCE) course should prove to be a rewarding and effective language learning experience.
